Acne Treatment
While the reason is still unknown, follicles, also known as pores, often times become blocked. Bacteria starts growing when the sebum (oil) that normally drains to the skin’s surface gets blocked. Whiteheads and blackheads both start out as a “microcomedone”, and later become skin blemishes called comedones. Whether it is a blackhead or whitehead, both are filled with blocked sebum and bacteria. Treatment options depend on the severity of your condition. With so many factors affecting clearance and a multitude of treatment options available (some only by prescription), intervention from the Laser Derma Care Center professionals will make a difference. Before prescribing treatment, the LDCC technician will consider several factors, including the severity of the acne, types of lesions present, co-existing conditions, as well as the patient’s age, skin type, lifestyle and motivation.
The knowledge gained from considering these factors allows your LDCC technician to create effective an individualized therapy that will resolve the patient’s acne over time and prevent new lesions from forming.
Sometimes we may combine two or more treatment options. A patient may be instructed to use one medication in the morning and the other at night. Or, medications may be combined with laser procedures. Due to possible side effects, over-the-counter medications should not be combined unless directed by your LDCC medical staff.
Acne responds especially well to early treatment. The professionals at Laser Derma Care Center are here to help you with all your acne treatment needs and recommend that acne be treated early to maximize effectiveness as well as help prevent scarring.

ActiveFX Resurfacing
As our skin ages over time, brown spots, wrinkles and laxity become more common. We offer the latest treatment available that delivers remarkable, long-lasting results in just one treatment. ActiveFX is a quick and effective, office-based procedure offering patients a single-treatment solution for sun-damaged, wrinkled skin with minimal downtime.
What is ActiveFX?
ActiveFX treatment uses a high-energy beam of laser light to promote the regeneration of a layer of new, healthy skin. The laser interacts with the skin in a fractional pattern leaving small areas of skin untouched allowing for a faster recovery period.
ActiveFX offers dramatic results, including:
- Reduces wrinkles and fine lines
- Softens deeper frown lines
- Produces immediate collagen contraction
- Greatly improves skin tone and texture
- Stimulates new collagen formation
Treatment results can be maximized with proper skin protection. While most results are visible instantly, others, such as new collagen formation, progressively build up and smooth over time. On average, patients continue to show improvement up to six months following the procedure.

How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments required varies; results are often noticeable after the second or third treatment. To begin with, treatments are usually spaced out four to six weeks apart, and then during the maintenance program, treatments are extended to eight to 10 weeks apart. Depending on how long you want to suspend the effects of aging, or until more aggressive treatment is needed (laser resurfacing or facelift) will determine how long your maintenance program will last.
What can I expect during recovery?
Because facial rejuvenation is so gentle, you can return to your normal routine immediately following treatment. You will notice a progressive improvement in the way your skin looks and feels as you continue in your series of in-office treatments. Facial rejuvenation does not require any tissue to be removed, there will be no oozing or crusting as a result of treatment and bandages will not be required. Your skin will steadily rebuild from the inside and restore a more youthful appearance to your face.

Rosacea Treatment
Rosacea is a chronic condition that causes the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin to appear flushed. It can cause redness, bumps and/or swelling and can look similar to acne; however, unlike acne, people with rosacea get dilated blood vessels, not blackheads.
Rosacea rarely resolves on its own and will require treatment. While some mild cases of rosacea is limited to mild redness of the cheeks, more severe forms can cause the overlying skin to become permanently red and swollen because of the dilated blood vessels and overlarge oil glands. This is also called rhinophyma. Some other potential symptoms of rosacea are eye irritation and sties.
Treatment varies widely for rosacea, depending on the symptoms. Oral antibiotics and topical medications are often used to treat facial redness and acne-like lesions. Laser treatments are used to treat the more severe forms of Rosacea. Your Laser Derma Care Center physician can discuss your individual concerns about treatment.

Laser Hair Removal
Laser Derma Care Center offers the most advanced techniques in removing unwanted hair. We utilize low-energy lasers to gently remove unwanted hair, ultimately eliminating the tedious routine of shaving and/or waxing. This revolutionary technology surpasses the older, painful hair removal treatments delivering long-lasting results. One of the advantages of the laser is that it treats more than one hair at a time, making it possible to treat larger areas such as the shoulders, arms, back, legs and face. This safe, fast, gentle and effective alternative method for hair removal leaves your skin looking and feeling silky smooth.
The laser slows down the growth cycle of hair follicles at the time of the treatment, but since some hair follicles may be just entering the growth cycle following your treatment, multiple treatments may be necessary for optimal results. Treatment results vary for each patient depending on hair and skin color.
